The MD Jockey Club is organizing a hiring fair at the Palacio de Deportes on the third floor of the Pimlico Racecourse, at 5201 Park Heights Ave. in Baltimore. This event is open to the public and will feature representatives from companies such as Select Event Group, SAFE Management, The Beadle Group, Battle Tested Security, Ridgewells Catering, Atlas Restaurant Group, and the Maryland Jockey Club. These companies will be on hand to share information about open positions during Preakness weekend and beyond.
The types of positions available include queue and preparation cooks, reception staff, waiters, kitchen assistants, buffet managers, chefs and tent supervisors, host staff, unarmed event security personnel, facility staff, transportation drivers, commercial driver's license (CDL) drivers, the drivers of commercial drivers, the drivers of commercial driver's licenses (CDL), the field staff, project foremen and subordinates, and project managers. The Professional Planning unit at the Feller Center offers personalized services and resources for students in the College of Behavioral Social Sciences. The Center for Law in Public Service coordinates the participation of Gonzaga law students in statewide Access to Justice Board committees and events related to the state and local legal service delivery system. The Director of Public Interest Law Programs works closely with law school Public Interest Law fellows and other students interested in careers in public interest law. Baylor participates in the Equal Justice Conference, Career Fair, and Public Service Career Day which are held annually in Austin. The CDO has strong relationships with public service employers and participates in ongoing outreach activities to build and maintain relationships within the public service community to create job opportunities for students and graduates. The Career Services Office subscribes to PSLAWNET, the Government Honors Internship Manual, and a variety of other online and print resources. The Pro Bono Program organizes a variety of clinics and legal trainings in the community which offer students an opportunity to develop their network.
UWLS students participate in the Northwest Public Administration Career Fair each February and a limited number of students receive financial support to attend the annual Equal Justice Works conference and career fair in Washington DC each October. BU Law is a member of the Massachusetts Law School Consortium which organizes two public interest professional fairs dedicated exclusively to public interest opportunities. This program is designed to provide students with a safe and confidential space where they can ask questions about job search skills, publish their resumes, participate in interviews and in the workplace. Cornell Law School students interview public service employers both on campus and at national fairs and conferences about professional careers in the public interest including the National Public Interest Law Association Fair and Conference in October in Washington D.
